Eastern Health has Emergency Departments in over a dozen sites throughout the Eastern region of Newfoundland and Labrador. Emergency Departments are open to provide emergency care to people suffering from serious or urgent medical problems.

If you are experiencing an emergency, please go the nearest emergency department, or call 911 for an ambulance. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 709-737-4668 or toll-free at 1-888-737-4668.

If you are looking for health advice, or are unsure whether you, or a loved one, requires emergency medical attention, please call the NL Health Line at 811 to speak with a registered nurse 24 hours, seven days a week.

Signs of heart attack

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)

Eastern Health’s SANE program, based from St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, provides services to persons who have been victims of sexual assault. The program provides care to patients in a safe and compassionate environment.
