Visiting your family doctor
If you, or a loved one, is experiencing a serious or urgent medical problem, please go to the nearest emergency department or call 911 for an ambulance. Here are some examples of serious medical problems.
If your illness is not an emergency, please visit your family doctor or nurse practitioner or a walk-in clinic. Your family doctor knows you and your medical history and can provide follow-up care, such as looking at the results of blood tests and making sure that you are taking the right medications.
If this is not an option for you, you can call the NL Health Line at 811 for health advice, 24 hours, seven days a week.
